Russ Tynan – Board Chairman

Mr. Tynan has served as a Director of Angkor Resources since 2020. He brings more than 35 years of senior executive leadership experience in the private and public sectors and is a recognized leader in governance and strategy. This change in leadership supports the Board’s commitment to establishing the strongest possible governance model and build long-term value for shareholders.

Mr. Russ Tynan has 35 years of Executive Leadership experience and is a trusted advisor and business leader as well as an innovative and creative problem solver. Russ has designed operations and logistics, capitalized on the opportunities for corporations, governments and various volunteer organizations. He has worked with and provided advice through four Olympic Winter Games and served as the Executive Director, Olympic and Paralympics Secretariat for the Government of Alberta.

Noted for his successes in transitioning companies and organizations through new opportunities or difficult challenges including his role as President and CEO of the Alberta Tourism Partnership Corporation. Russ works with executive teams at the strategic stage, and through implementation.

Mike Weeks – Director and Executive VP of Operations

Mr. Weeks was a founder of Angkor Gold Corp. and previously served as its president and CEO. Mr. Weeks has 25 years of experience in project management of power generation and petroleum-related industries. Mike spent over 14 years negotiating with foreign governments in developing and implementing natural resource concessions. During that time, Mike was instrumental in the implementation of training programs for local labour force development, professional accreditation, and made significant strides in self-sustaining community growth and enhancement in developing countries. He has an engineering background and holds a First Class Power Engineering Certificate. Mike has managed large projects in Canada, Africa and Europe, constructing and managing several large production facilities in North Africa. Mike was and continues as a founding director of a petroleum training company as well as two financial service companies.

Ken Booth, B.Sc., M.B.A. – Independent Director

Ken has more than 30 years of experience in exploration, mining and corporate finance and public company administration. In mining corporate finance, he has worked for two of Canada’s largest investment banks executing numerous equity financings for both junior and senior companies and was involved in a variety of significant mergers and acquisitions.

Terry Mereniuk – Independent Director

Mr. Mereniuk has been a Director and CFO of several public and private companies. He has owned and operated his own accounting firm for 9 years. Terry obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (with distinction) – University of Alberta – April 1981. He is a Certified Management Consultant since June 1988 and a Chartered Accountant since December 1983. Terry was director and CFO of Wescorp Energy Inc., an OTC Bulletin Board listed company from 2003 to 2009.

Steve Cochrane – Independent Director

Steve Cochrane has 36 years of investment industry experience during which he has participated in raising millions of dollars for a variety of “small cap” public companies in various businesses and industry sectors including mining.

In addition to having been associated with numerous domestic transactions, Mr. Cochrane has also been involved with many international opportunities in Chile, Cambodia and China. Currently, Steve is the CEO of Lithium Chile. His extensive experience both as former Vice President and Investment Advisor at Richardson GMP (and its predecessors) and his successful 18 year career with National Bank Financial will be a great asset as Angkor grows its projects and engages with shareholders.

Mr. Cochrane also brings a unique skill set to Angkor that recognizes the need to balance both the company’s opportunities with the expectations of its shareholders.

Scott W. Smith, P.Geol. – Independent Director

Scott W. Smith has over 30 years of experience in mine production, mine start up, advanced projects and exploration at world class operating mines, brownfields and greenfield situations. Since February 2015, he has been Chief Geologist for Taseko Mines Ltd’s Gibraltar Mine, the second largest open-pit copper mine in Canada.

From 2012 to 2014 he was the Exploration Manager Chile/Argentina for Teck Resources. From 2004 to 2012 he was with Newmont Mining at their Yanacocha Mine in Peru, the largest gold mine in South America where he held roles of increasing responsibility in both production and exploration including Geology Mine Manager and District Geology Exploration Manager. For 5 years (1999 to 2004) he worked at the Antamina Mine in Peru, one of the largest copper/zinc mines in the world. Prior to working in South America, he worked for over 10 years in Canada on exploration and production on numerous deposit types including porphyry copper and epithermal gold in Canada and Alaska.

His deep geological knowledge and experience will be extremely valuable as Angkor continues to explore gold deposits in Cambodia.

Grant T. Smith, CPA, CA

Mr. Smith’s management background extends over 25 years with diverse operations and organizations, including York University and PriceWaterhouse Coopers. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has over 15 years of experience in the accounting field. Grant has served as the CFO or director for several public companies on the TSX Venture Exchange with operations in Canada, the USA, and Mexico. Mr. Smith also has extensive experience serving private companies in various industries as well as not-for-profit organizations. He is very active in his community, supporting both the arts and social services by serving on various Boards, including his role as the treasurer of The Lookout Housing Health Society and Honour House. Grant has recently founded Clarity-NPO.ca, a new organization to support financial excellence in not-for-profit enterprises. He holds a BFA (1984) from York University and received his designation as a CA in 2005.
