Toronto, ON (March 8, 2017): Angkor Gold Corp. (TSXV: ANK and OTC: ANKOF) (“Angkor” or “the Company”) is pleased to have participated today in ringing the opening bell at the Toronto Stock Exchange for the Women in ETFs (WE) 3rd Annual Global Bell Ringing for 2017 International Women’s Day. Women in ETFs is the first women’s group for the ETF (exchange-traded fund) industry. The WE and Partner theme this year is “Women at Work”.

Delayne Weeks, VP Social Development for Angkor Gold Corp. said, “Involving women at every step of any project, in any industry, in any country is simply a good business practice. Social Development is not about words on paper but rather how we execute our philosophies in real practice that brings real value to the very people that need it the most, while protecting our planet and striving for profitability. Angkor Gold aims to set the example for all industries proving that we can walk the talk, and that people, planet, profit can become reality.”

Angkor has a long history of active social development in Cambodia involving education, health, economic growth, and water & sanitation. When working with Village Development Councils in Cambodia, Angkor encourages women to hold the positions for the education, health, water & sanitation, and women’s affairs representatives. Women are at the forefront of family education, family health, and key to water and sanitation solutions, all of which underlie economic stability and progress.

Helping local communities become stronger means encouraging women to play a greater leadership role in local community development. Angkor is a member of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.

Angkor also was an invited participant yesterday in the Deliberative Dialogue on Women in Mining at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada Annual Convention (PDAC).
